Children's Festival

Held Each In May

The Wausau Noon Optimist Club proudly participated in the annual Children’s Festival held each May at Marathon Park in Wausau, Wisconsin. This free, family-friendly event welcomes children of all ages for a day filled with creativity, exploration, and community connection.

A highlight of the Optimists' presence was their hands-on woodworking booth, where children built simple wooden projects using real tools with the help of friendly club volunteers. This interactive experience encouraged kids to learn by doing, boosting their confidence and creativity while giving them something meaningful to take home.

Beyond the booth, Optimist members assisted with event registration, supported other activity stations, and served hot dogs and hot chocolate—adding warmth and energy to the entire festival.

The club’s involvement in Children’s Fest is a living example of the Optimist Creed in action. By "making all [their] friends feel that there is something in them" and "giving every living creature a smile," members created a joyful, encouraging environment where every child felt seen and supported. Their efforts also reflected a commitment to "wearing a cheerful countenance at all times" and "being just as enthusiastic about the success of others as [their] own."

Through service and optimism, the club continues to uplift local youth and the greater Wausau community.
