The Wausau Noon Optimist Boys Basketball Tournament is recognized as one of the finest youth basketball tournaments in the state.  The tournament is for boys in grades 4th–8th. The 4th grade tournament is a one-day tournament on Saturday, February 8, 2020, with an entry fee of $185 per team and guarantees three games. The 5th-8th grade tournaments are two-day tournaments on Saturday, February 8th and Sunday, February 9th, the entry fee is $250 per team and guarantees four games.

The Wausau Noon Optimist Club hosts this event and coordinates program booklets, referees, scheduling and admission volunteers.  The youth that are involved in basketball programs at local Wausau high schools provide our scorekeeping and timekeeping.  The respective Booster Clubs of each high school, as well as the Middle School Booster Clubs provide concessions at each of the game locations.

The Wausau Noon Optimist Club Boys Basketball Tournament serves over 900 youths and utilizes the following school sites: Newman Catholic High School, Wausau West High School, Wausau East High School, Horace Mann Middle School and John Muir Middle School.
